The 9.2 quake in Indonesia and the resulting Tsunamis have devastated the coastal areas of Southeast Asia where over fifty thousand have perished. The Florida/Caribbean hurricanes of 2004 were devastating to the entire region. Now in late 2005 we have seen the widespread devastation that can result following natural disasters like Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We have also witnessed how shockingly unprepared FEMA and the Red Cross are when faced with natural disasters of this magnitude.
